COVID-19 Update

Update current as at 16 July 2021

Safeguarding the health and safety of our visitors and staff is core to what we do at the Botanic Gardens. We are closely monitoring and responding to Government health advice in this rapidly changing environment and putting in place measures to protect our community during these challenging times.

Our Gardens continue to remain open to the public at this time, unless advised otherwise. However, we urge visitors to ensure they comply with all social distancing requirements in line with the latest NSW Health advice. The following restrictions and closures are currently in place at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney:

  • Restaurants and cafes are takeaway only.

  • The Calyx and the Visitor Centre are temporarily closed. 

  • The Winter in The Domain festival has been postponed – further details will be published as details are finalised.

  • Ticketed programs, events and tours are currently suspended. 

  • The Office Reception at the National Herbarium of NSW is closed to the public, but visitors can call or email. 

  • The Sea of Hands at the Calyx, originally planned for NAIDOC Week, has been postponed and updates will be published once finalised.  

The following restrictions and closures are currently in place at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan:

  • The Cafe is closed but there is currently a coffee cart for takeaway only.

  • The Visitor Centre is closed to public walk-ins, but enquiries can still be made by phone or online.

  • Ticketed programs, events and tours are currently suspended. 

The following restrictions and closures are currently in place at the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens Mount Tomah:

  • The Visitor Centre is closed to public walk-ins, but enquiries can still be made by phone or online. 

  • Ticketed programs, events and tours are currently suspended.
