Seeds – they may be teeny tiny, but life on earth depends on them! In this virtual session, students will work with a Gardens Educator to discover the amazing world of plant lifecycles, with a focus on seeds.
We’ll discuss different types of seeds before looking closely at their features, exploring their unique dispersal mechanisms and learning how scientists at the Australian PlantBank are safeguarding their future. Towards the end of the session, your Gardens Educator will conduct a live seed experiment for students to engage with.
After the excursion, students will be challenged to collect seeds local to them and conduct their own simple experiments!
